2017 Hockey season is almost over. With 21 rounds of normal hockey and 2 rounds of finals before the grand final we come down to 2 teams for the mens and womens comp. Womens - Tuggeranong are ready to face 2016 primers St Pats and OCHC Mens are ready to show 2016 runners up Goulburn that they are still top after winning the 2017 minor premiership.

Well the weekend is over and now the photos are ready. Only one game was photographed this weekend and the game was between Tuggeranong V's Central 1st Grade Womens. Central ended up coming away with a 2-1 win. Great game with some challenging light for me.

Great news!!! Photos from Saturday 22nd April and now all available. Only Two games photographed this weekend and unfortunately for the Ladies only the men were covered. Two cracking games though with Tuggeranong hosting Wests down in the south of Canberra. Wests came away with both 1st grade and 2nd Grade.

After a long off season and photographing other things KCP is now back where I love to be. This season KCP Aims to photograph more 2nd grade and even some 3rd grade teams. This will all depend on time and family.

When you spend every weekend taking images of amazing athletes, the images start the blend into each other especially after a long season. When Millie went on a run through the ANU defenders in the 2016 Hockey ACT Grand final and I clicked the shutter I knew without even looking at my view finder I had a special image. The subject in this image is of the 2016 Mckay Medal winner - Millie Monfires. Hockey ACT's Best player. Amazing person and an amazing talent.

One day of single digits until the 2017 Hockey ACT Season. This image taken in 2015 of Malcolm Beer, a great goal keeper in Canberra. With all the goal keeper images I have in the archive this is my favourite. With Malcolm looking almost right at the camera and prepared to protect the goal on a short corner against Wests Hockey Club.

Over the last few years I have taken many images in many conditions. Rain, Hail, Shine, Hot, Cold you name it I have done it........ Well not hurricane or fire. But having been in these crazy conditions the players have to be playing in it, and in this image shows the dedication of a coach who stands on the side line and takes the harsh conditions with their players.

Now with under a month to go until the 2017 Hockey ACT Season begins, we continue the count down. This image was taken during the yearly Charity event held in Canberra. The Chris McKinnon Memorial Weekend, this weekend raises money for a breast cancer. The image is like any normal coin toss photo but both mens teams are wearing special jerseys that have been slightly modified to pink.
