Working as a photographer for the Canberra Times means every assignment is different, and most are completed within a short window of time. Whether I have five minutes or an hour, my goal is always the same: to create honest, compelling images that help tell the journalist's story.
Many of the people I photograph are sharing deeply personal experiences. Not every story is a happy one, so I approach each assignment with empathy, respect and sensitivity, ensuring every portrait reflects the individual behind the headline. From breaking news and community events to moments of celebration and hardship, my role is to capture authentic images that inform, connect and give readers a deeper understanding of the stories shaping our community.
